History

The Mosque of Verbia is located in the Verbica of Zhegoc. This mosque, according to data of the Institute for Protection of Monuments of Kosovo, was built in 1866. The mosque has two floors: the ground floor and first floor. At the entrance part has the „chardak‟ /”closed gallery” made of wood. Has a hipped roof. Doesn’t have a minaret. Inside the facility there is mihrab, mahvil and mimber made of wood. Construction was done with stones and bricks, wooden elements in the interior and exterior of the building, as well as new tiles on the roof. Windows are small ones square shaped.Neessary renovations were done to the facility from time to time. The wooden windows have been replaced with plastic ones, the entrance door was replaced by a metal door, the interior and exterior plastering of the facility was done, as well as old roof tiles were replaced with new ones.
