History

Town of Peja is host to a 20th century house of special features, originally the home of Ramiz Sadiku’s family, situated in a street formerly named after him and now “Emrush Miftari” no. 181. It is now the ownership of Isa Bajrush Harxhi. It is a one storey building. The entrance of the house directly communicates with the building. The house was built completely of bricks and wood painted by lime mortar, with hip roof. It belongs to twentieth century. The house has historical importance as the Second World War Freedom Fighter, Ramiz Sadiku was born in it. The shape of the building was preserved, but its structure was completely revamped since 1975. The total surface area is: 85,56m2. Walls are made of bricks, while the foundation and rings were made of crushed stones. Openings are made of wood but have suffered changes in dimensions. The surface area is: 9.20 X 9.30 m, cadastral lot no. 430, 431 and map no. 33,14, cadastral zone-Peja, UL-71611071, possession list no. 1054. The building and the yard together comprise a surface area of 03,03m2. The building is in a rather poor condition, partially burnt during the 1998/99. The shape was preserved to a certain extent but the structure was completely revamped since 1975. The house was placed under legal protection since 1949, as a monument under decision numberv E.R. 2043/49.
