History

The House of Basri Kryeziu is a traditional urban house of the XIX century, a period when these types of urban houses were built where high class of citizens used to live. The premise served for residential purposes. This house belongs to a type of house with a lobby, which is located between central façade in floors. Porch is confined to the arc-shaped window. The main facade is characterised with windows set in sequence within the ground floor and floors. The materials used for construction are local, such as stone for the construction of foundations, mud for walls and wood for roof construction and other elements such as traditional tiles used to cover the roof. Since the premise is still used for housing, the owner of the premise in question replaced the windows with the same dimensions, but with modified designs (not as original). The premise in its interior contains all the elements characterising this type of premise such as: guest room in first floor with ornamental ceiling, old style chimney, cupboards, shelves and decorative parts of the porch. All these elements are made of quality wood and all design is handiwork. Both in interior, as well as exterior, the owner made some own interventions for maintenance purposes and to improve living conditions.
