History

Stone house (popularly knows) as Halim Mistari`s “Kulla” is located in Miftaraj neighborhood of Vllahia village of Municipality of Mitrovica. According to the collected information`s, Stone house is built in the second half of XIX century concretely during 1880. Stone house has residential function, it is of a height of GF+1, it is built with stones and wood. Apart of the windows on the hallway Stone house has also embrasures. Ground floor of the Stone house was used as a space for placing the animals, while the floor had three rooms, together with a hallway where every room had their own hamamxhik (bathing corner). Since Halim had that knowledge and ability for wide discussions als solving of different problems was well known for Vllahia and other villages, his Stone house was being used as a meeting point to discuss about the challenges that Albanians were facing. Stone`s for it`s building where collected from Majdan (quarry) while the transportation mean was Kercela. Based on the information’s from ancestors, building of Stone house began on shengjergj (about month of May) and it ended in shmiter (about month of October). Today the Stone house is in bad conditions and it is being use as a stall. Stone house build on the foundation with stones has ground floor and the floor. Constructive walls are made of hewn stones that are tied up with hatulla`s placed horizontally in five innings and turn six, which functions as the crown of the roof structure wood. Key pillars located on the ground floor are creating stability to the ceiling of the ground floor the profiled cushions placed on pillars. All middle floor construction, ceiling and roof are made of wood. Lighting space characterized by rectangular openings, while in the part of the porch’s we can see windows openings in the form of embrasures. Upper side of the entranced door is visible with the arch made of stones. The Stone house is out of function.
